Our Faith

The Holy Scriptures:

We believe the Holy scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally and plenarily inspired Word of God.  The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible and God-breathed, and therefore, are the final authority for faith and life.  The 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are the complete and divine revelation of God to man.  The Scriptures are interpreted according to their normal grammatical-historical meaning.  The King James Bible is the official and only translation used by the Church.  2Timothy 3:16-17; 2Peter 1:20-21.

 The Godhead:

We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in 3 Persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory and having the same attributes and perfections.  Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2Corinthians 13:14; John 14:10, 16.

The Person and Work of Jesus Christ:

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, God the Son; John 1:1, 14. That He was virgin born, lived a sinless life, and voluntarily sacrificed Himself for the sins of the world.  We believe that He physically arose from the dead on the 3rd day after being crucified, ascended to Heaven where He sits at the Father's right hand on the Throne making intercession for His children.  Acts 1:9-10; Hebrews 9:24, 7:25; Romans 8:34; 1John 2:1-2.

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit:

The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment to come.  He is the Agent of salvation in regenerating sinners, baptizing them into the body of Christ, indwells them and seals them until the day of redemption.  He is the Divine Teacher that equips the saints to serve according to their gifts.  We believe the sign gifts of the New Testament were temporary, ceasing as their need ceased, and upon the Bible being given.

 Salvation:

We believe that mankind is born in sin due to Adam's Fall in Genesis 3.  Salvation is the gift of God by grace through faith in His Gospel; Romans 3:23-24.  We believe that all believers are eternally secure in Jesus Christ through His finished work and the sealing of the Holy Spirit.  Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-9; Romans 5:1; Romans 8:1, 38-39; John 5:24.

 Last Things:

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to judgment and eternal punishment.  We believe the Rapture of the saints is the next event on God's prophetic calendar, ushering in the 7 year tribulation period described in Scripture, after which we believe Jesus will return to earth to rule and reign for 1,000 years.  Satan will be defeated, and the New Heaven and the New Earth will appear for eternity.

 Creation:

We believe that God created the universe in six literal twenty-four-hour periods (days).  Genesis 1-2; Exodus 20:11

This statement does not exhaust the sphere of our beliefs, but it reveals that we are a Bible-believing congregation.
